Watermelon, Meet Lemonade

Watermelonade

Adapted from Go Catering

Serves 10

  • ½ cup sugar
  • 4 cups cubed watermelon
  • 3½ cups water
  • ½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

1. Bring sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a small saucepan, stirring sugar to dissolve. Set aside.

2. Put the cubed watermelon in a blender and puree until smooth, about 20 seconds. Strain through a fine mesh sieve. You should have about 2 cups of strained watermelon juice.

3. Mix the sugar syrup with 3 cups cold water and the lemon juice. Stir well.

4. Fill glasses with ice, add about 3 tablespoons of watermelon juice and then top off with lemonade. Stir gently before serving.

A Crafty Baby “Shower”

This is a beautiful and creative baby “shower” from Lisa Storms at Fiskars.  Beautiful white tissue poms are use as “clouds” and raindrops are falling from the clouds.  Cupcakes with cloud toppers fit wonderfully with the theme and the baby rattle pops made with marshmallows are adorable!

A “Paisley” Baby Shower

This is such a beautiful baby shower from Under the Sycamore that will definitely get you excited about spring.  It is filled with wonderful colors and creative decorations.

The guests played a fun game where they had to finish the sentence to phrases like  “When it comes to her daddy….” and  “When she is a teenager…”

I love this banner and my favorite thing about it is that Starbucks coffee sleeves were used behind the letters.

An advice jar is always a great item to have at a shower especially for first time moms!
