Pinatas, Pinatas, Pinatas!

Pinatas have become a tradition at my children’s birthday parties. They love them and all of their friends always look forward to them too. There are great ideas for pinatas other than just the standard traditional one.

These mini pinatas from One Charming Party are a great idea for party favors or a small celebration.

Here is a great idea for the summer heat! What about a water pinata?!?!

I love these mini pinatas from The Sweetest Occasion that were placed on each place setting for a wedding dinner.

These adorable pinatas from Let’s Explore are made into animals.

Pinatas are also great to use for holidays like this Christmas pinata, Halloween pinatas, or some Patriotic pinatas.

Apple of My Eye Bag

Here is another great idea for your back to school bash or to send with your kids on the first day of school from Skip to My Lou via Alpha Mom. This would also be cute to incorporate into an apple baby shower as a favor.

– A printable sandwich bag.

Download the Printable Back To School Sandwich Bag PDF

Gather some flat white sacks and painters tape.

Print one copy on draft setting on a piece of copy paper (good way to use up scratch paper).

Now position the bag over the image.

Secure sack to paper with blue painters tape. (You can reuse this paper and tape over and over to print more bags)

Run this page through your printer. On my desk top printer I place it face down with bottom of sack placed in first.

Cut your sandwich into an apple shape to make lunch extra special.

Here is a great favor idea or they can be used as escort cards. First I thought of an outdoor wedding shower but you could use these in a variety of ways and you can use different fruit.

Everything S’mores

S’mores are such a great treat to have as a child but there are so many ways to still enjoy this treat.

You can use them as favors like the S’more Love or the S’mores Kits. Try a different take on S’mores by making s’mores pops, Bakerella’s cupcakes or Annie’s Eats cupcakes.

I absolutely love the S’mores Bar that I found via Fete Fanatic. What a great idea to use at a party or event!

What a great idea for a winter party favor. Stuff gloves with hot cocoa and marshmallows for your guests to take home.

Cookie Sleigh Favor and Place Card in One

Here is a great idea for a favor and place card all in one for Christmas.

How to Make the Santa Sleigh Party Favors
You’ll need:

1 box graham crackers
1 can vanilla icing
2 candy canes per guest
1 package of mini square-shaped cookies
1 package of coconut
6 sheets of green construction paper
1 red pen
An assortment of food colors (including red)

Directions:

Separate icing equally into two bowls. Tint one bowl of icing red.
Coat a graham cracker with vanilla icing and sprinkle it with coconut to look like snow.
Position two candy canes in the icing, with the curved front part facing up. (These are the sleigh runners.)
Take a second graham cracker and break off one section to make it shorter than the first.
Frost the second graham cracker with red icing and place it in the curved part of the candy canes. Make sure the rest of the second graham cracker rests on top of the white icing underneath.
Anchor the Santa cookie to tshape cookies with different colors of icing and arrange them around the Santa cookie to makehe top of the sled with vanilla icing.
Decorate the mini square- packages.
Cut stockings out of green construction paper. Write each guest’s name on a stocking with a red pen. Tuck a stocking under each sleigh, making sure the name is visible, to complete the place card.

Angelina Ballerina Party

This past weekend was my daughter’s 5^th birthday. She requested an Angelina Ballerina party, which was very easy for me (since I teach dance too).

For those of you who are not familiar with Angelina, she is a dancing mouse.

The party was PINK, FRILLY and FUN!!!

I hung boas and paper lanterns from the chandelier with a cut out of Angelina Ballerina.

Every year for my girls’ birthdays, I set out a special birthday book for everyone to sign. They can leave a birthday note or a special memory from the past year. I then write a special note to them recapping all the special events and milestones they had that year. I am saving all of the books to give them when they are older. I also had a ballet frame with her 1st dance recital picture and her ballet shoes set out on the table. You can also see the invitation that I made for her. It was designed as a ticket for a show.

The cake was specially made for her and she LOVED it!

I made tutus for all of the girls to wear when they arrived at the party. I set them out on the table and also attached them to the tulle on the chairs.

Here is a close up of the chairs with tulle and tutus.

I hung a banner of pictures from the past year on the mantel. The party favors were set out under the banner.

The party favors were pink bags with hair bows, lipstick and a ribbon wand that I made. All the girls also got to take their tutu with them.

After all the girls got their tutus on, they went to the dressing area to get their nails painted, lipstick on and put glitter lotion on.

What sweet little hands….

After this, the girls learned a short ballet dance and then we all did fun dances that everyone knew like the Hokey Pokey and Chicken Dance. After dancing time, the girls went outside to enjoy the Angelina Ballerina piñata.

I had some snacks set out for everyone during the party. The food consisted of pink marshmallows on sticks; pink Whoppers; a pineapple cheese spread; white chocolate strawberries; sprinkled pretzels; a fruit bowl and cubed cheese.

Even the strawberry platter had a tutu on it. I attached tulle and ribbon to it to dress it up like a tutu.

I served pink lemonade and water.

I made Angelina Ballerina labels with for all of the water bottles.

It was a lot of fun to see all of the girls running around in their tutus and everyone seemed to enjoy the party.
